Peshwe Daftar (Pune Archives)
This colonial building with exquisite architectural elements is a record house for archival documents which has close to 39,000 bundles or rumals numbering upto 4 crore documents. The collection at the Archives has sanads, nivadapatras, mahzars and kaifiyats along with accounts of other areas. All the papers collected during the 14 years from 1843 to 1857 have been arranged in 7,864 rumals relating to areas like Nagar, Nashik, Pune, Sachiv, Khandesh, Konakan, Gujarat, Satara and Mogalai.
Council Hall
Built in 1870 by the British, this structure built as an administrative building belongs to the Venetian Gothic style of architecture. Unlike the Peshwe Daftar on the opposite side that is built in stone, this building is built with bricks and stone in a captivating design.
