Shaniwarwada
Known as the virtual capital of India during the 18th century, this magnificent monument was the center of Indian politics during the Peshwe era. Although in a state of ruins today, it is said that a 7 storey building once stood in here with all its glory and great architecture, of which we can still see the evidences today.
Kasba Ganpati
The Graam Daivat (Presiding Deity) of Pune, this deity is probably the oldest in the city. Renovated and patronaged by Jija bai - mother of the Shivaji the great Maratha King, Kasba Ganpati is revered and worshiped by the city even today, before all major social and religious events. The current facade of the temple is renovated to resemble typical Maratha period architecture.
