Tanima studied Diploma in Fine art, from Indian Society of Oriental, Chitra Bhushan, Chandigarh and Dr. Shivanand College (Gaya), Bihar.

Participated in major group show at Academy of Fine Arts and solo shows at Academy of Fine Art, Standard Chartered Bank, Chemould Art Gallery, Photographers Gallery, Srijanee. She has participated in All India Painting workshop 2010 organised by S. C. Z. C. C. Nagpur.

She has awarded from Academy of Fine Art, Shimul and The Russian Centre of Science and Culture, Best watercolour painting from Camlin Art Foundation. Received certificate of Merit from Shaymal Dutta Ray Memorial Exhibition.
