Raju Deshpande was born in 1961 in Pune and completed his G.D. Art from Abhinav Mahavidyalaya in Pune in the year 1981. Beside which he honed his skills under the guidance of senior artist Subhash Awchat, in his studio for over 5 years.
Since 1985 Deshpande started working from where he unleashes his creativity. For creativity, is what inspires Deshpande! Inspiration for this artist, comes from all forms of creativity, be it cinema, literature, music or theatre. His paintings reflect his ongoing interaction with their other art forms. A prolific painter, he enjoys experimenting with diverse medias and techniques, even using the ‘college’ method to create a variety of interesting effects.
