Artist's Statement :
From my very childhood, have been fond of nature. In Nature, I am seeking my own forms as my own colors. I do not know how far I have been successful
until now. Colour and line have always attracted me in their presence and company. I feel enriched. I feel relaxed and fulfilled. So I like to paint.
At the beginning of my artistic career was my encounter with the ‘Sahyadri’ mountains. They created for me, fantastic and mystic illusions. I depicted the
various moods of Sahyadri in the form of representational paintings.
But now, all that seem to have passed behind me. My present paintings seen to be proceed gradually towards abstraction. I feel that the spirit of Nature
is overflowing through the five elements or principles. Every element has its own peculiarity. I am eager to observe, express and adore these through my
paintings.
The earth is so vast, so textural, made up of different planes and layers of land, rock and stone. The earth also gives me a vista of simplified forms
and contrasting colour. Light, indeed, is a miracle of nature. Sunlight gives me fresh stimulation and warmth. In contrast, moon light exudes a cool,
peaceful and mystic atmosphere.
The flow of water, the breeze in the air, every movement of plant and trees and the dance of butterflies inspire me to paint on and on.
