Born in Kolkata in 1932 and is a printmaker and painter. She has exhibited solo in India, Germany and the USA, Bombay during 1961 - 2000. She was invited to the Guru Dutt Film Festival in London and Birmingham in 1994. Lajmi has given illustrated lectures in India and UK. She participated in Graphic workshop of Prof. Paul Lingerine in Mumbai and two of her etchings were selected for "India Festival" 1985, USA.
