Shri. M. K. Kelkar painted Waterfalls when he visited Karnataka, Goa and Niagara Falls in Canada in watercolour.
Water played an important part in his paintings. Different conditions of water give a very effective mood and character to the painting. He felt that its depth, shallowness, gushing through rocky terrain, falling from the heights or calm and reflecting condition helps very much to make the subject lively and interesting. The medium of water colour is ideal for such subjects and helps to render a subtle effect in very short time keeping all the transparency and freshness of the colours.
