Inauguration of exhibition "Pursuing Abstraction"

A "Pursuing Abstraction" a show on abstract art was inaugurated by Shri. Prabhakar Kolte on 1st September 2005 at the Indiaart Gallery. This was followed by a talk on "Understanding Abstracts" which was well attended by many art lovers, artists and students.
Participating Artists in this show :
Prakash Bhise : An established artist & teacher Prakash Bhise, in an art career spanning over 28 years
Gajraaj Chavan : In the last 23 years Gajraaj Chavan has well established himself as an artist & is presently the Head of the Department of Fine Arts of the Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalay, Pune.
Mahesh Jagtap : This young talented artist from Nashik who has just completed his B.F.A. from Sir J. J. School of Arts in 2005.
Vipta Kapadia : Recognised today as an established abstractionist Vipta Kapadia who started her career 27 years ago as a realistic painter, who gradually moved towards abstraction.
Pandit Khairnar : In the last 13 years Pandit Khainar has been honing his art and has steadily made a name for himself as a serious abstractionist.
Prasanna Musale : In the remarkably short span of 5 years, Musale is fast establishing a name for himself, with his semi-abstract mixed media paintings.
Shilpa Nikam : Armed with a B.F.A. first class and M.F.A. first class with distinction from Sir J. J. School of Arts, Mumbai, Nikam has achieved a steady stream of awards and has established herself in many group shows & 2 major solo shows.
Varsha Randiwe : Varsha Randiwe has established her name in a niche market as a corporate artist and is high on the list of leading architects and interior designers as, her art is very site specific and complements the surroundings.
Prakash Waghmare : A serious yet sensitive abstractionist, Prakash Waghmare has been moving more and more deeply towards the abstraction of nature.
