Remarks
Spring is the time when nature’s indrawn life-force begins to express itself outwardly again. Spiritually, it represents the devotee emerging from seclusion or meditation, ready to engage with the world again. I’ve tried to capture the first moment when the icy stillness of a frozen winter begins to melt again. The painting needed a quiet observer, one who is conscious of the magic of the moment. For this reason I added a fox because, well, I like foxes.
