Indiaart Gallery invited eminent artist, Suhas Bahulkar to give a live demonstration of portrait painting at the gallery, on the occasion of the release of a special catalogue of his work.
The live-model painting demo of a priest dressed in a typical ‘bhataji' dress was appreciated and enjoyed by an enthusiastic crowd of art-lovers and students. The portrait was rendered using acrylic colors on canvas in a realistic manner. He explained to the audience what guidelines and precautions needed to be taken whilst painting a realistic portrait, regarding high lights, shading, the shape of the ears, nose, length of the neck, set of the shoulders and most important the expression of the eyes, etc., to authentically capture the character of a person.
To grace the occasion, Camlin's vice-president, Mrs. Rajani Dandekar was invited to inaugurate a special catalogue of Suhas Bahulkar's paintings, published by the Indiaart Gallery.
