Manisha Patil
Manisha Patil is a painter and art historian. She has completed her graduation in Painting from Nagpur University and postgraduate and Ph. D. in Art History from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda. Manisha has taught at Govt. Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya, Nagpur and is at present Professor, Art History at Sir. J .J. School of Art, Mumbai. She has had several joint shows with Prabhakar Patil at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai and has displayed her works at Art Today, New Delhi, Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata, Nehru Centre, Mumbai, Gallery Articulate, Mumbai, Gallery Vinnyasa, Chennai and Korea-Mumbai Biennale. The artist has also contributed to various charity shows such as Art for Concern, Cancer Patients Aid Association and Nanhi Kali, Mumbai.
Manisha has participated in art camps including Lalit Kala Akademi, Goa and International Women Artists camp, Renaissance Centre, FLO and CPAA, Mumbai. The artist's paintings are in numerous public and private collections. Manisha has contributed essays in various art journals such as Art News and Views, Art Journal etc. She has delivered talks at CSMVS and Bhau Daji Lad museum, Mumbai and participated in seminars and workshops on art and art education at Goa Kala Akademi, Goa, Serendipity Art Festival, Goa, Chitrakala Parishath, Lalit Kala Akademi, Bangalore, and NCTE, New Delhi. She was nominated as a member of the Advisory Committee, NGMA, Mumbai. Manisha has curated two major exhibitions - Vinayak Masoji: Santiniketan and Beyond' at CSMVS, Mumbai and 'Rethinking the Regional' at NGMA, Mumbai.
