Photo exhibition - "Cotton to cloth" at Indiaart Gallery

Photo exhibition from 1st to 7th October, 2016

The photo exhibition at Indiaart Gallery, Pune presented by Dastakar Andhra illustrates the full process of the cotton handloom production process from spinning to weaving the fabric.

The pictures are all produced on cotton handloom fabric to create a sense of intimacy with the fabric itself, and also a new aesthetic experience at the same time!

Dastkar Andhra is a 25 year old organization which works on policy, research and advocacy aspects of the cotton handloom industry in the country. It works actively with handloom co-operatives in Andhra and Telangana on promotion and marketing of cotton handloom products. These hand woven products are woven by weavers who are members of handloom co-operatives.
