Remarks
This painting depicts symbolically, how we as humankind are squeezing out the resources of our planet. Since, the dawn of Industrial revolution there has been a tremendous increase in the output of energy for various purposes. As a result, we have been gobbling up resources like coal, wood, petroleum etc. at a phenomenal rate. Such human activity has profoundly damaged nature and polluted many of Its components and the process continues at an ever-increasing pace. We are in fact through the sixth mass extinction. The emission of various greenhouse gases due to hyper-industrial and transportation activity has also caused global warming, which in turn threatens calamities of unprecedentedly catastrophic dimensions.
