Niteen Gupte

Niteen Gupte calls his series of paintings and drawings "Surface Poems". The title refers to the new meaning he creates out of the space of the canvas or paper by use of lines and dots. These lines and dots which he creates very painstakingly through a process which is intense and difficult at that. He uses contrasting colours for his artworks. His early work was exclusively in black & white, which evolved over a period when he started using two to three colours to discover new possibilities of expression.
